Moorea is a scenic island, just 10 miles away from its bigger sister, Tahiti. We spent three days there en route to the other islands of the Societies group.
Beautiful, lush mountains surrounded by a colorful lagoon, making for a postcard-perfect anchorage:
We didn’t even need to go out much – entertainment seemed to come to us. Either above the water …
… or under it:
But we did go out !
A 4-mile dinghy ride took us to Sting Ray City – a place in the lagoon where stingrays come up close to tourists. And indeed they do …
… together with their toothy friends:
Ashore, Raquel was intrigued by the pineapple plantation:
And the views of Tahiti, just beyond Moorea’s lagoon, were breathtaking:
By dusk, the pirogues would use Pesto as a milestone for their training, much to our entertainment:
And Nature would throw its fascinating end-of-day show:
It was an unusually short stay for our standards – just three days – but we were very happy with our cruise to Moorea:
Stay tuned for the next step of our cruise in the Societies: Huahine.
Amazing photos… that’s a life adventure. Congrats.
Tudo muito lindo!!!
