Gone Sailing

Ensenada ended up being a short stop for us. Today we cast off the lines again en route to the southern tip of Baja California.

We were very busy in Ensenada, amidst the procedures to clear in to Mexico, and the preparations for the long trip south. We also squeezed in some time to walk along the city’s main street and spend quality time with our friends from s/v Coastal Drifter. Moreover, Paulo celebrated his 11th birthday here … gosh, I need to write a whole new post about it. But it will have to wait until we arrive to the region of Los Cabos.

Back to our trip south. It will be a 650-700 mile passage, which we may do non-stop if all is fine, with a couple of intermediary anchorages along the way in case we feel the need to.

Baja passage

We will keep our AIS on all the time, and the site marinetraffic.com displays real time information from it – location, heading, speed. Just type “PESTO” on the search box at the upper right corner, choose “PESTO CK”, and we should show up on the map … spooky, but fun 🙂

I will try to post interim progress updates along the way, but that will depend on connectivity, which shall be very sparse at best.

Have a great weekend !
