Up to now this blog has been written in singular form by yours truly, as I have been preparing Pesto for the arrival of the remaining three protagonists of this story. And we look forward to share our experiences through our different perspectives here. So today, instead of posting about places, tasks, week calendar or geese … today i’m going to write about Us.
Our story dates from more than 20 years ago, but we don’t need to go that far back.
Adriana and I walked down the aisle, hand in hand and dully married, in 1999. The ceremony was in Brazil, but we moved overseas immediately thereafter to polish our academic backgrounds.

We went back to Brazil in 2001 and three years later the family started to grow. First came Paulo:
The next year Raquel arrived and the family was complete:
Careers and Will took us places. Raquel wasn’t 1 year old yet when we moved overseas. First was Singapore:
There was a brief 5-month interlude in India (just Adriana and the kids):
Then Mexico:
And lastly the United States:
We tried to keep contact with the sea along the way, taking sailing vacations here and there:

At the end of 2011, after ordering the n-th round of margaritas in a beach hotel in Mexico (just Adriana and I, obviously – Paulo and Raquel were playing at the kids club), we decided to up the game and acquire our own boat.

Two months later, we were the proud owners of Pesto. We spent our last summer vacations sailing with her …

… and eventually it became clear that this was a story in the making. It was up to us to realize it and get it written.
